Funding Schemes
Nordic Centre of Excellence
Nordic Centre of Excellence (NCoE) is NordForsk’s most important funding instrument to increase and facilitate cooperation between excellent researchers, researcher groups or institutions in the Nordic countries.
Thematic programme
A thematic programme is a funding scheme that focuses on a defined subject area, aiming to create new scientific knowledge and knowhow.
NORIA-net
NORIA-net shall enhance coordination and cooperation between national research funding agencies and policy makers in the Nordic region. NORIA-net allows identification of areas of national priority that can be strengthened through Nordic cooperation.
Researcher networks
By financing researcher networks, NordForsk aims to bring together prominent research groups in the Nordic and Baltic countries in order to strengthen and increase the quality of research and research training.
Research Training Courses
The objective with this funding scheme is to offer research training (PhD) in specific fields where the number of qualified students cannot be reached in one country alone. The courses can be held within all scientific areas.
Private Public Partnership (PPP) PhD
The PPP PhD Programme aims to increase knowledge exchange between the Nordic countries and promote collaboration between academia and industry. NordForsk funds PhD projects carried out in cooperation between a company, a PhD student and a university, where the company and the university are from various Nordic countries.
