SOCIALL - Social software for co-creation in Living Labs
Living Labs is a promising approach to engage users in co-creation processes. However, current Living Lab methodology largely depends on user participation in activities conducted face-to-face. This poses important limitations, in particular related to cost, time, and sample size restrictions.
SOCIALL will establish social software as a cost and time effective approach to co-creation in Living Labs. Social software are solutions that enable users to connect and share insights, knowledge and content via the Internet. This may increase the commercial value and uptake of Living Lab methodology, in particular in small- and medium sized enterprises and for geographically dispersed user groups.
Early work on social software in Living Lab co-creation has resulted in the RECORD online Living Lab and Copenhagen Living Lab’s solution piipl. However, important unresolved challenges remain in order to use social software effectively in Living Labs.
Four organisations are involved in this project, all hosting ENoLL Living Labs:
- SINTEF (RECORD online Living Lab)
- Copenhagen Living Lab
- Halmstad University (Halmstad Living Lab)
- Luleå University of Technology (Botnia Living Lab)
The partners represent state-of-the-art competence and solutions for Living Lab social software, as well as broad experience in involvement of distributed user groups in Living Lab activities.
