The role of DOC and DON in plant-soil C and N cycling
Three leading scientist within the research field will spark the discussion on the role of organic carbon and nitrogen in carbon and nitrogen cycling. These scientists have been selected to cover different ecosystems, having different methodological backgrounds for doing their research. The intention is that they will provide the newest knowledge of the research field and by this enhance the exchange of ideas and knowledge between participating PhD students working in different ecosystems.
Furthermore, the PhD-course contains a second leg concerning the latest developments in analytical tools for carbon and nitrogen studies. There are another three lectures each with specific knowledge of state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation, use of carbon and nitrogen isotopes, and the application of these in field experiments.
The intention is to provide the participating PhD students with practical knowledge of the state-of-the-art technologies and field methods, and inspire the students to apply these methods in their own research across different ecosystems and tropic levels.
The PhD course will be held in April 2012 in Uppsala, Sweden, read more about the event here
