NordForsk invests NOK 140 million in research on inequalities in the distribution of health and welfare

The NordForsk Board has awarded a total of NOK 140 million to five research projects under the call for Nordic research projects on the inequitable distribution of health and welfare. There were 86 grant applications submitted in response to the first call for proposals under the Nordic Programme on Health and Welfare. Many of the applications were of very high quality.

Human pressure affects the climate impact of wetlands

Wetlands can both sequester CO2 and release methane (CH4) into the atmosphere. It is difficult to calculate how the balance between the uptake and emissions of these two greenhouse gases is affected by climate change. A large researcher group that includes participation of the Nordic Centre of Excellence DEFROST have concluded that human activities may influence this balance.

Nordic programme on gender in the Nordic research and innovation area

The NordForsk Board has decided to establish a programme on gender in the Nordic research and innovation area, including Nordic She Figures. Executive Director in the Research Council of Norway, Jesper Werdelin Simonsen, is appointed chair of the Programme Committee.
