Energies of the High North - Arctic Frontiers 2012

The fundamental issues addressed at the sixth Arctic Frontiers conference will be:
- How does the global energy outlook affect the High North?
- How should energy resources in the High North be utilized to meet the world's energy demand?
- What kind of technology must be developed to ensure a sustainable utilization of energy resources in the High North?
- How does this impact the northern countries and local communities and their way of living?
The scientific section of Arctic Frontiers 2012 will commence with a Wednesday morning session of overview presentations on the potential of existing and new possible resources of energy in the North, followed by a plenary discussion. On the afternoon of Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th and Friday 27th four parallel sessions, focusing on non-renewable and renewable / alternative energy, are planned. A poster session with approx. 100 posters is also planned.
