The aim of the one-day conference is to look at innovative activities promoting gender equality and discuss gender-oriented policies and best practices in the European Research Area. CERN and ESO, the European Southern Observatory, will present some of the challenges faced by international research infrastructures in the recruitment, retention and career development of female professionals in the field of science, engineering and technology.

NordForsk will participate by presenting the situation in the Nordic countries.

The Gender in Physics Days are events hold all over Europe with the aim of improving female representation in the entire field, from the higher education level to research career recruitment and progression. The event series is initiated by GENERA, the Gender Equality Network in the European Research Area.
