”Danish PhD training should have higher ambititons”

07.04.2006
The PhD training in Denmark should be more ambitious. The goals for the PhD students are unclear and unambitious. This is the conclusion of a international committee which has evaluated the Danish system for research education.
The report states that Danish research schools are of very different quality, and the committee suggests to organize them differently. Today many research schools are too small and have a too narrow perspective; whereas others are placed in research milieus without sufficient quality.

The committee also suggests that 20 % of the increased allocations for research education should be earmarked to post-doc candidates.
