Big launch from the Academy of Finland

The Academy of Finland launches five new research programmes at a total of 36 million euro. The largest, Nanoscience Research Programme, has a budget of 9 million euro.
The other four programmes are:

Sustainable Production and Products Research Programme (7.5 million euro)
Nutrition, Food and Health Research Programme (7 million euro)
Power in Finland Research Programme (7 million euro)
Substance Abuse and Addiction Research Programme (5.5 million euro)

The Board of the Academy decided on this in their meeting on 15 November 2005. In total, the Academy of Finland has earmarked 241 million euro for research funding in 2006.
