British research: Danish people tops world happiness ranking

29.07.2006
Researchers at the University of Leicester in UK have reached the conclusion that the Danish are the happiest in the world. The other Nordic citizens are also among the happiest, except the Norwegians. They are ranked number 19.
The researcher Adrian White, who has conducted the survey, says the term happiness the way he uses it has to do with how likely we are to become depressed, addicted to alcohol or drugs, or homeless. The survey uses material from among others the WHO, Unesco and CIA. The factors that count the most are health, income and level of education.
