Danish high technology fund invests 200 million DKK

Vaccines through a sticker on your skin, better cancer treatment and cheaper christmas trees next year? These are among the 12 projects now receiving funding from the newly established fund for high technology in Denmark.
The board of the fund has only been active since 31 March 2005 but already they have decided which projects to support first. The fund received 158 project proposals and 12 will receive funding. The fund invests 200 million DKK in these research projects.
"The great interest in applying for grants shows that there has been a void in Danish research funding. The fund opens a window for researchers and the industry to cooperate across borders and develop new knowledge and technology. This cooperation will create jobs in the future", says chairman of the board Jørgen Mads Clausen.
