For the first time it is now possible for foreign PhD students to apply for funding of their entire research training in Denmark. The exchange goes both ways, as Danish students also can apply for the Danish state to finance their training in another country.

The Research Training Agency not only emphasises the foreigners‘ research itself but also the new international contacts that is established between Danish and foreign research environments.

The main part of the applications came from graduate schools that have been established during the past few years, funded by the Research Training Agency. The graduate schools are probably the cause of the high quality of the applications to the Agency. The graduate schools establish international relations, which are crucial in today‘s research environment.
