Denmark and India to extend collaboration on research

10.03.2006
Denmark and India extend their collaboration on biotechnological research. The Danish-Indian steering committee decided on their recent meeting in New Dehli to arrange joint research workshops on stem cells and nutrigenomics.
A Scout-India programme is already running. This gives Danish researchers the possibility to go to India to look for research partners. This instrument has been fruitful and will be prolonged.

During the meeting in India, the Indian participants decided to launch a similar programme. This will give 10 Indian researchers the possibility to visit Danish researchers during 2006 as a preparation for designing common research projects. It was also decided to open calls for common Danish-Indian research projects late 2006 and during 2007.

This cooperation is a result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed autumn 2004 by the Danish and Indian Ministers of Science.
