Denmark spoils its elite researchers with new awards

25.08.2006
Five of the best young Danish researchers will be awarded five million DKK each from the new initiative Elite-Forsk from The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Elite-Forsk will create a solid framework for some of the greatest talents in Danish research, says The Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation in a press release. In addition to the awards, travel scholarships for talented PhD students will also be granted. The awards will contribute to Denmark‘s future ability to attract talented researchers.

"We have every reason to honor the best of our young researchers in public and private research environments, researchers that deliver top quality work of an international standard. They strengthen Danish research and should be role models for all researchers and future researchers in Denmark," says Danish science minister Helge Sander.
