Doctors from Helsinki get jobs

A new survey from Palmenia Centre for Continuing Education shows that postgraduates from Helsinki University have no difficulties finding jobs. Most of the candidates work for the universities, civil service or local authorities.
The survey describes those who were awarded their degrees in 2002. Merely 1,5 percent of them were out of work and only 16,8 percent had been unemployed at a given time. However, there were great differences when it comes to correspondence between educational background and the standard required for the position. 54 percent had jobs where a doctoral degree was required.

In total 196 doctors and 65 licenciates participated in the survey.
