Finnish EU chairmanship agenda in progress
Finland has the EU chairmanship from 1 July to 31 December 2006,taking over for Austria. The draft agenda for the chairmanship is in progress and research is a central theme.
An active effort regarding the Lisbon strategy and the long-term research programmes are going to be central paragraphs in the Finnsh chairmanship programme. In addition, the Finns will suggest at more intensive co-operation between EU and Russia in addition to the northern dimension.
