Full NorFA participation from adjacent areas

The strategy of NorFA emphasises co-operation with the adjacent areas of the Nordic countries, through networks and research training courses, among other things. This is part of NorFA‘s international dimension as well as NorFAs co-operation to increased equality between the research environments in the Nordic and adjacent countries.

NorFA‘s board has decided that all grant schemes that involve grants to institutions shall be open to the entire region (the Nordic countries, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and North-West Russia). This means that:
  • Researchers in the entire region can apply to establish networks. Minimum three countries should be involved, of which to Nordic countries.
  • Researchers from the entire region can apply for grants to arrange research training courses. Courses can be arranged at any place in the region. Minimum three countries should be involved, of which to Nordic countries.
  • The visiting professor scheme is open to the entire region.
  • Researchers from the entire region can apply for grants to arrange pre-projects and planning meetings.
  • Activities within the academy aspect of NorFA is open to the entire region.
