Health- and Energy Research at Nordic Innovation Conference

NordForsk and Nordic Energy Research will organise two parallel sessions at the conference New Trends in Nordic Innovation in Finland, November 2007. The titles of the two sessions are “The Nordic Region as a Global Health Experimentarium” and “New Trends in Nordic Energy Innovation”. The conference is organised by Nordic Innovations Centre on behalf of he Finnish presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
The conference is in Oulo, Finland, 29-30 November 2007.

The Nordic Region as a Global Health Experimentarium
Keynote speaker at NordForsk’s session will be Arvid Carlsson, who, along with Paul Greengard and Eric Kandel, was awarded the 2000 Nobel Prize in Physiology/ Medicine for their discoveries concerning signal transduction in the nervous system. Director of Mandag Morgen, Erik Rasmussen, will give the talk: “The Nordic region as a global health experimentarium and welfare exporter”.

New Trends in Nordic Energy Innovation
Thorsteinn I. Sigfusson, University of Iceland, is one of the world’s foremost experts in hydrogen technology. In 2007 he was awarded the prestigious Russian Global Energy International Prize. He will talk about hydrogen energy innovations in Iceland.
