Iceland: € 2.7 million to nanotechnology and biomedicine

The Icelandic Centre for Research, Rannis, decided December 1 to grant funding for research projects within the programme Postgenomic Biomedicine and Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
This is a new research programme, and funding for research projects is being granted for the first time. In total Rannis received applications from 23 research projects, together they applied for the total sum of € 4.8 million.

Examples of research projects which received funding are: From Impact of BRCA abnormalities to Targeted Cancer Treatment, Construction and Testing of a Macromolecular Sensor, Novel Nanotechnology for Targeted Ocular Drug Delivery.
