More than 54 billion euro in new framework programme

The European Parliament has allocated 54.58 billion euro for their new framework programme for research and technological development. This 7th framework programme lasts seven years.
"The new framework programme means we will have an average of 40 per cent more money every year compared to the sixth framework programme," says Jerzy Buzek of the European Parliament.

The new framework programme starts in 2007 and lasts for seven years. The first calls for applications are expected in December 2006.

EU‘s framework programmes are their most important tool for economic support of research and development in Europe, and includes most scientific areas.
