The Danish Research Agency reports that the Danish Natural Science Reserach Council (SNF) has funded DKK 60 million for three research centres within the field of nano technology. Denmark now expects internationally competitive results.

The new centres were elected after solid competition between the best research environments in Denmark. The centres are expected to develop into leading research and research training environments lead by highly qualified and internationally recognised researchers.

-The three centres will lead the way for internationally competitive results from Denmark. The will strengthen Denmark‘s position in the competition for for instance EU funding. They will also make sure that Denmark educates new researchers, says SNF‘s chairman professor John Renner Hansen.

-There is no doubt that society will benefit from these results, for instance through high technology spin-off enterprises, concludes the chairman.
