National investigation on Swedish PhD students

The Swedish Agency for Higher Education is working on a new report on the PhD students’ views on research training.

10 000 of Sweden’s 18 000 PhD students have received a form to fill in where the questions regard among other things the amount of time they spend on their studies and how they are financed. The students’ opinions on the courses, supervision and work environment will also be investigated, as will the question of discrimination.

The results will be possible to retrieve to the level of university and scientific field. In this way, the universities can benchmark their results and find areas of potential improvement.
