New call for proposals: EUR 2.25 million for Nordic-Dutch research in the field of inclusive education

NordForsk’s Education for Tomorrow programme is announcing EUR 2.25 million in funding for Nordic-Dutch research on inclusion in pre-primary and primary education. This is the first call for proposals in the newly established collaboration between NordForsk and the Netherlands Initiative for Education Research (NRO).

The thematic area for this joint call for proposals is inclusion in pre-primary and primary education with a focus on teaching and learning for children and students in need of special support. Projects are required to incorporate cooperation between researchers and research-oriented practitioners.

The scheme is open to researchers based at universities, university colleges, universities of applied sciences and research institutes in one of the participating countries in collaboration with practitioners in educational institutions. Each project must involve participation from the Netherlands and at least two Nordic countries.

All the Nordic countries participate

Following the preannouncement of the call, Denmark has decided to participate in the collaboration with funding from the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. This means that researchers and practitioners based at Danish institutions are eligible to apply.

This call is a joint effort between the Academy of Finland, the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Icelandic Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, the Netherlands Initiative for Education Research (NRO), the Research Council of Norway, the Swedish Research Council, and NordForsk.

The application deadline is 4 April 2017.
