New call for proposals: NOK 25 million for research in new learning and teaching environments and practices

NordForsk’s Education for Tomorrow is announcing NOK 25 million in funding for one Nordic Centre of Excellence (NCoE) within new learning and teaching environments and practices.

The focus of the NCoE may be early childhood education and care, primary education or teacher education, or combinations of these contexts. Institutions from all the five Nordic countries will fund the NCoE.

Two phases of Education for Tomorrow

The Education for Tomorrow programme was launched after an initiative by the Nordic Ministers for Education and Research, and phase one of the programme funded six research projects (2013-2016) and one Nordic Centre of Excellence (2013-2018). Phase I has focused on the future challenges of the Nordic educational systems.

Phase II of the programme (2017-2023) concentrates on bridging the gap between research and practice in teaching and learning. Besides this call for proposals for a Nordic Center of Excellence, phase II includes the call Inclusive Education Across Borders: Research projects oriented towards practice and policy, in collaboration with the Netherlands Initiative for Education Research (NRO).

The application deadline is 13 September 2017 at 14.00 CEST.
