Sweden's new government was presented on 3 October and the responsibility for Nordic co-operation will lie with Kristina Persson, who was appointed Minister for Strategy, Future and Nordic Co-operation. Persson is an experienced politician who has served as member of both the Swedish and European Parliaments. She represents the Social Democratic Party and has already shown her enthusiasm for Nordic co-operation by serving as Director of the board for the Norden Association.

The post of Minister for Higher Education and Research will be filled by another Social Democrat, Helene Hellmark Knutsson, who serves as Deputy Opposition Leader in Stockholm County Council.
