Working to provide easier access to data

In 2015 NordForsk awarded NOK 14 million for a research project to be conducted jointly by the Nordic national statistical institutes (NSI’s). The project, Nordic Microdata Access Network (NordMAN), seeks to establish a single pan-Nordic solution to facilitate researcher access to the Nordic microdata compiled for statistical purposes, and to provide an overview of the existing Nordic registers.

Historic Nordic initiative in personalised medicine

Personalised medicine is an interdisciplinary research field that will drive the Nordic research and innovation agenda in the years to come. Innovation Fund Denmark, Innovaatiorahoituskeskus Business Finland, the Icelandic Centre for Research (RANNÍS), the Research Council of Norway, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (Vinnova) and NordForsk are therefore collaborating on a call for proposals to fund Nordic projects targeted towards wider implementation of personalised medicine. Innovations in Personalised Medicine: Towards implementation of personalised medicine in health care has a budget of EUR 15 million, and an application deadline of 4 September 2018.

The NordForsk Board has allocated funding to three projects under the Nordic Societal Security Programme’s call for proposals on «The Underpinnings of Nordic Societal Security». In total, the three projects will be receiving 28.5 million Norwegian kroner.
