Last year NorFA contracted the Norwegian Institute for Studies in Research and Higher Education (NIFU) to construct a website of statistical information about doctoral degrees and doctoral degree students in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The result is this extensive and useful collection of statistics which can be used free of charge by anyone.

Now all the data are available at one place:
  • Doctoral degree statistics for the entire region and for each of the countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania)
  • Number of doctoral degrees and doctoral degree students by academic field and gender
  • Average age upon dissertation
