Nordic Conference on Research Infrastructure

NordForsk, The Nordic Council of Ministers, the Swedish Ministry of Education and Research and the Swedish Research Council co-organise the Nordic research policy conference "Global challenges – Regional opportunities: How can Research Infrastructure and eScience support Nordic competitiveness?" 12-13 November 2008.
The conference venue is Clarion Hotel Skanstull, Stockholm, Sweden. The conference starts at lunchtime on Wednesday the 12th of November and ends Thursday afternoon.

Four Sessions
The Swedish Minister for Higher Education and Research, Mr Lars Leijonborg, is one of the plenary speakers during the first session, "Nordic collaboration in a global perspective". The other sessions are "Nordic policy on research infrastructure", "Frontiers of eScience" and "How can research infrastructure and eScience support Nordic competitiveness?".

Four Thematic Workshops
During the conference, the participants are invited to take part in one of the following thematic workshops:
  • Climate, Energy and Environment
  • Welfare and Health
  • Future technologies in eScience
  • National Strategies and Solutions Related to Research Infrastructures


Closing date for registration is 13 October 2008.
