NORIA-nets Starting 2008

As a means of enhancing co-operation between Nordic national research and innovation financiers and managers, NordForsk launched the pilot coordination programme, NORIA-net, 15 May 2007. NordForsk has now processed the applications and contracts have been signed with four NORIA-net projects, while three more projects have been selected for further negotiations.
Broad Nordic Participation
The seven NORIA-net projects include participants from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Lithuania, Estonia and Iceland; both ministries and national research councils and agencies are represented. Some of the prosjects are specifically oriented towards planning possible joint Nordic funding activities for the coming years.

Coordinating Nordic Research Financiers
The objective of the NordForsk NORIA-net call was to launch coordination activities leading to synergy effects, sustainable cooperation and joint investments within research funding and research policy. Eligible participants were Nordic national research and innovation financiers and/or managers.

The NORIA-net Call
The call was launched 15 May 2007 and the deadline for the one-step application procedure was 3 October. The NORIA-net projects are expected to start their activities early 2008.
NordForsk is actively participating in the activities of the NORIA-net projects.
