Norway establishes Committee against dishonesty in research

The Norwegian Minister of Education and Research, Øystein Djupedal, will establish a new national committee against dishonesty in research. The initative comes after it was revealed that a well-known Norwegian researcher has fabricated data for one of his studies.
"This is a very serious situation because it creates doubt about whether our systems for revealing errors are good enough or not. That is why I want to establish a national committee against dishonesty in research, a body which has already been planned", Djupedal said to the Norwegian Broadcasting.

The Goverment will during this spring send a report to the Storting including the proposal for a committee against dishonesty in research.
