Norway: Kids no longer see scientists as Frankenstein

Norwegian children no longer see scientists as mad men making bombs. For a drawing competition arranged by the Research Council of Norway, children made drawings of scientists producing useful things. And one third of them were young fashionable women.
The drawing competition receives massive attention internationally, and is mentioned in the next issue of the prestigious scientific magazine Nature. Also the German magazine for science and culture, Morgenwelt, has a story about the drawing competition.

In a similar drawing competition in 1993, none of the more than 2000 drawings showed female scientist. This year close to 30% of the scientists are drawn as young fashionable women. The mad male scientist is still present, but there are not so many of him.
