Norway: More liberal biotechnology

19.12.2005
The last Norwegian government‘s restrictive biotechnology regulations will be liberalised under the present Stoltenberg government. This remains clear after a meeting arranged by the Directorate for Health and Social Affairs and The Norwegian Biotechnology Advisory Board.
In its declaration the coalition of the socialist, labour and centre parties states that the biotechnology regulations will be changed in the direction of more liberal research on fertilised human eggs.
-We will now gather different views on this case before we make a statement in January, the director of The Norwegian Biotechnology Advisory Board says to newspaper Aftenposten.
