Norwegian cancer scientist manufactured data

The Norwegian Radium Hospital has discovered that a scientist has based his research on manufactured data. An article based on the research was published in The Lancet in 2005.
The management at the Radium Hospital has started an investigation of the matter.
"It remains clear that one of our scientists has manufactured data for his research. The result, published in a renowned international journal, rests on a false basis, says Stein Vaaler, strategic director of the Radium Hospital.

Norway‘s Minister of Knowledge, Øystein Djupedal, now wants to establish a national science review board. The minister has planned a meeting with the Research Council of Norway on 16th January to discuss the further development of the matter.
