Norwegian industry executives want more research

Among those Norwegian industry executives familiar with the contents of this year‘s white paper on research, 80 percent are positive to the high ambitions expressed there. However, a majority of the executives ignore the contents of this white paper.
The Research Council of Norway have, in cooperation with Perduco, conducted a survey among one thousand executives of companies relevant to research. The results show that 80 percent of the executives who have read the whte paper are positive to the ambition of reaching 3 percent of GDP to research by 2010. It is expected that the industry will contribute with 2/3 of the investments. Over half of the executives thought this was realistic.

However, the vast majority of the industry executives, 85 percent, were unfamiliar with the content of the white paper two months after it had been presented.
