Norwegian industry spends more on R&D

Norwegian industry invested 3 per cent more in research and development in 2005 compared to the year before, reports Statistics Norway. Now the industry spends a total of 13,3 billion NOK on R&D. The number of man years was increased by 4 per cent in the same period.
A total of 14.600 industry employees are engaged in research, shows the preliminary numbers.

Enterprises of more than 50 employees used 9,9 billion NOK and 10.500 man years on R&D in 2005, whereas enterprises of 10-49 employees used 3,4 billion and performed 4100 R&D man years.

New detailed numbers will be published in December, promises Statistics Norway.
