Norwegian research and industry in closer connection

30.08.2005
The Norwegian research website forskning.no has launched a new industry section at the same time as the Research Council of Norway relaunches their innovation programme. -In general, there is too little understanding between the industry and academia for a co-operation on research, development and innovation, says Norwegian Minister of Research and education, Kristin Clemet.
-Norway has fallen behind in this field. The initiative of the industry section at forskning.no will contribute to improve this situation, Clemet says.

The development of the industry section at forskning.no has been supported by The Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry and focuses on the common field of research and industry. The website will publish news and background articles on innovation and commercialisation of research as well as fact information for research-based companies.

At the same time the Research Council of Norway becomes a more attractive partner for those companies that invest in research and development. Norwegian industry leaders have expressed that it is too difficult to find the programmes that can result in R&D projects. Therefore the Research Council has analysed its information in order to make it more to-the-point. This autumn a collection of innovation programmes will be re-lauched as one.
