-Number of quotations not always significant

Norwegian research is quoted more and more frequently in international scientific journals. However researcher Dag W. Aksnes warns: -I would like to bring those back to earth who believe that the number of quotations alone is a sign of quality.
Dag W. Aksnes of the institute NIFU STEP is Norway‘s top expert on quotations. He believes that the fields of medicine and science are most quoted for a reason:
-This is because the database primarily contains scientific journals. Within the humanities and social sciences the publication of books is more normal.the American company Thomson ISI that indexes about 8600 scientific journals also fails to register national publications, Aksnes stresses. He thinks that peer reviews should remain the main method for evaluation of scientific quality, in addition to quotations.
