Open call for proposals within the Top-level Research Initiative: “Integration of large-scale wind power”

15.10.2009
Today, the 15th of October 2009, the Top-level Research Initiative opens a call for user driven research projects within the sub-programme “Integration of large-scale wind power”.
In this call only Nordic research projects with strong user involvement in the knowledge creation and diffusion throughout the project cycle will be funded. The rationale is that effective and efficient knowledge creation, adaptation and diffusion takes place as an integrated interaction and collaboration between users and producers of new technologies and systems.

The focus for the present call will be on grid aspects, power and energy aspects, energy market aspects, operation and maintenance and cold climate and offshore wind power.

The budget for the sub-programme “Integration of large-scale wind power” is 30 MNOK over 5 years. Projects can receive a maximum of 60% funding from the Nordic Top-level Research Initiative, and all projects are requested to have minimum of 40% external contribution. Industry participation in projects is encouraged.

All projects must have representatives from three or more Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden).

In this programme there will be a two stage application procedure. Different electronic forms are to be used for application phase I and II.

The deadline for pre-proposals is the 15th of December 2009.
