Open call: Sustainable freight and logistics

“Sustainable Freight and Logistics in a Nordic Context” is a new joint research programme focusing on the Nordic countries’ common challenges within the freight and logistics area. The call for proposals opens June 25th for researchers and research groups from the participating countries Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

The financiers of this joint programme are the Danish Council for Strategic Research, Ministry of Transport and Communications Finland, The Research Council of Norway, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (VINNOVA), and NordForsk.

The programme has a strong focus on Nordic conditions, both in terms of geography and organisational structures. Activities funded should enhance relevant national activities, adding Nordic dimensions. Projects must include partners from minimum three Nordic countries.

Thematic areas
• New management models, concepts and tools supporting sustainable logistics and co-modality in a Nordic approach
• Common Nordic environmental measurement and assessments
• Visions for sustainable logistics at company level
• Humanitarian and development aid logistics
• Other relevant research topics within the field of sustainable freight and logistics

The call is funded through a common pot provided by the funding partners, and administrated by NordForsk. The funds will amount to up to NOK 15,5 million, divided between 2-4 different initiatives.
