Pre-announcement within the Top-level Research Initiative: "Integration of large-scale wind power"

The Top-level Research Initiative will be publishing a call for user driven research projects within the sub-programme “Integration of large-scale wind power” on the 15th of October 2009.
In this call only Nordic research projects with strong user involvement in the knowledge creation and diffusion throughout the project cycle will be funded. The rationale is that effective and efficient knowledge creation, adaptation and diffusion takes place as an integrated interaction and collaboration between users and producers of new technologies and systems.

The focus for the present call will be on grid aspects, power and energy aspects, energy market aspects, operation and maintenance and cold climate and offshore wind power.

The budget for the sub-programme is 30 MNOK over 5 years. Projects can receive a maximum of 60% funding from the Nordic Top-level Research Initiative, and all projects are requested to have minimum of 40% own and/or external funding.

Industry participation in projects is encouraged.

All projects must have representatives from three or more Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden).

The deadline for applications is the 15th of December 2009, and project start is summer 2010.
