The Norwegian Parliament will attend to this matter during the next few months. To Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten‘s knowledge, it is likely that the Parliament too will recommend the solution of a Sami research college in Kautokeino.

Rector at Sami University College, Kjell Kemi, says that Norway has ratified the international indigenous people convention that places the responsibility for Sami research and education with the Sami people.

Kjell Kemi also wants there to be a Sami research council that comprises Sami research in all the Nordic countries. The Samediggi also wants this solution.
