Science journalist awarded Kunskapspriset

TV producer and journalist Helen Rundgren of Swedish Utbildningsradion is this year‘s winner of Kunskapspriset (‘the knowledge prize‘) in the category of Unique personal achievement. Rundgren was awarded the prize for her efforts to communicate science to children.
Kunskapspriset, sponsored by the Swedish Research Council among others, is awarded every year in five different categories. Helen Rundgren was awarded the prize for her many TV programmes for children about science and research. The jury says that Rundgren‘s work is of high quality and that she is able to explain complicated scientific matters in a simple and entertaining way. Her programmes have also been awarded international prizes and the themes include dinosaurs, the skeletal system, genetics, biological reproduction and anatomy.
