Norwegian research will now be strengthened through several initiatives, states Norwegian Minister of Education and Research, Kristin Clemet in an article in Norwegian newpaper Aftenposten.
Norwegian research will now be strengthened through several initiatives, states Norwegian Minister of Education and Research, Kristin Clemet in an article in Norwegian newpaper Aftenposten.

The Minister also writes that the Government is planning a systematic incentive for quality in research. The conditions for research, i.e. resources and equipment, will be strengthened at universities and colleges. For 2003 the Government has granted 265 million NOK for investments in scientific equipment.

The Government also grants approx. 200 million NOK for quality improvement, and the funding goes to Norway‘s most promising researchers, among others the researchers of Norway‘s 13 centres of excellence.

There will also be fundings for outstanding young researchers within all academic fields. In this way, the Government wishes to offer young talents a carreer in research.
