26.06.2006
According to a new report from The Swedish National Agency for Higher Education, the incomes for research and research training in Sweden last year decreased for the first time in over ten years. The external sources dried up.
The total incomes for the universities and university colleges amounted to 23,9 billion SEK in 2005, which is a decrease of 1-2 percent compared with the year before. The research incomes have been at the same level since 2002, reports The Swedish National Agency for Higher Education. The external financing sources are disappearing, whereas the direct state allocations are at the same level as in 2004, the analysis shows.
