In its budget proposistion for 2006, the Swedish government proposes 100 million SEK extra to R&D in small and medium-sized enterprises. Vinnova will be responsible for managing the programme.
"A strengthening of the small and medium-sized enterprises‘ ability to increase the knowledge level of their processes and products is central to the development of their competitiveness. Therefore, in the Government‘s opinion, there should be established a special funding programme to stimulate the development of these enterprises", the Government states in its budget proposition.

-The needs of small and medium-sized enterprises are great and we are delighted for this funding. This is an excellent way to increase the competitiveness and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, says Per Eriksson, Director General of Vinnova.
