Swedish reserch environments in the near future might be facing legal actions against owning a company that is based on your own research. For the time being, this is not regulated in Sweden.

The Research Council is in charge of developing Swedish basic research and now proposes the establishment of rules regulating the process from research to product. The rules should primarily apply to researchers employed at Swedish universities and colleges, and probably also medical doctors engaged in the development of new medicines. What caused this initiative at the Research Council was the quick development in the field of bio-technology and stem cell research.
