Swedish research students want to be industry candidates

23.11.2005
This year the Swedish Research Council has received more applications than ever for their industry phd programme. In addition, the quality of the applications has increased.
Each year the Swedish Research Council supports a programme for industry phd‘s within the natural and technical sciences. Of a total of 71 applicants, 16 were granted financing. This means that the number of received applications in 2005 was almost three times the number in 2004.

The main reason for this increase is probably the efficiently directed information from the Research Council to the universities, colleges and industry organisations.

This grant scheme is directed at enterprises that are committed to strategic competence increase, and also includes one university or college.
