Swedish scientists get high score in international ranking

Three Swedish researchers are among those who obtain the highest ranking in an international research programme on geoscience. Their cutting edge research regards the centre of our planet. The scientists themselves point out that we know more about the Universe than about Earth.
The physicists Igor Abrikosov (Linköping University), Rajeev Ahuja and Börje Johansson (Uppsala University and The Royal Institute of Technology respectively) obtain prestigeous international funding for their research.

In an application to the European Science Foundation the three Swedish scientists are ranked in the top category. Their research projects starting in January 2006 and lasting three years also receive funding from the Swedish Research Council.
