The humanities and social sciences will secure Denmark‘s future

A working group appointed by The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation in Denmark regards the humanities and social science research as crucial to the country‘s future development of welfare, innovation and international competitiveness.
Organisations of the industry, innovation and research institutions have all participated in this analysis. The report proposes that 180 million DKK are invested over the next five years. The money will be used for the establishment of four hot spots for industry-relevant research and development with background from the humanities and social sciences.

-We have seen many signs that the humanities and social sciences have a large industrial potential, said Minister of research, Helge Sander. -If we are to incubate ideas of global standard the industry needs more visible entrances to the research environments, he concluded.
