29.01.2020
NordForsk is opening a call for proposals to fund research and innovation projects in the field of sustainable aquaculture. Approximately NOK 72 million is available under this call. The plan is to fund six to eight research projects. A call for proposals will be published in February.

The programme will fund six to eight research and innovation projects. The amount of funding available per project is maximum NOK 10 million. The projects will be funded through a virtual common pot, which means that the national funding agencies will fund their respective participants in the funded projects. Tentatively, a call for proposals will be issued in February 2020 with deadline in April/May 2020.

The overarching aim of the programme is to generate knowledge and solutions for sustainable land-based and marine salmonid aquaculture in the Nordic countries. The programme also aims to promote Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) perspectives in sustainable aquaculture within a Nordic context, including diversity, inclusion, openness and transparency.

The host institution (Project Owner) for the project must be a research-performing organisation based in one of the co-funding countries.

The Project Leader must be a qualified researcher at the host institution. All project participants must be affiliated with legal entities in their respective countries.

The project consortium must include a relevant mix of different actors from academia, research institutes, industry and the public sector.
