Advanced research using new x-ray sources

This summer school aims to provide an introduction of the science around the upcoming ultra-brilliant, coherent and fs pulsed X-ray and Free Electron Laser sources currently operating or in constructions.

For the Nordic students the ambitious MAX IV project will create a completely new situation with new fascinating possibilities such as ultra highly resolved X-ray spectroscopy, nanospectrometry, x-ray holography, etc.

The field is interdisciplinary and expert lecturers will cover a broad range from medicine to technical applications of nanophysics.

In addition to lectures and group exercises, there will be practicals at MAX-lab, giving hands-on experience for the participants.
